Here are the press conferences that were given at the Detroit Auto Show, recently uploaded by the Auto Channel. Cadillac reveals the awaited Cadillac XTS Platform Concept, Buick and GMC tell us about their company, and Hyundai sells their brand.

Buick’s apparently ramping up to hit the Acura TSX punch for punch – 1st a rumored wagon version, now verbal confirmation to Jalopnik that a manual transmission will be offered.

Regal is back – and aimed at the Acura TSX and Audi A4. Probably no Grand National or T-Type packages, but there is a Direct Injection Turbo powerplant.

We’re doing a bit of reporting on the press here, but in this case, it’s important. Buick’s role in the new General Motors structure is to fight Lexus, and to accomplish that goal, they’re laboring to overcome an image problem. While it was easy to chuckle at these efforts when Bob Lutz was telling us the body on frame Buick Ranier was going to steal sales from the contemporary Lexus RX330, lately Buick is offering a compelling alternative to Lexus in several market segments. The image problem still lingers, and part of fixing it is getting the automotive press to take their new cars seriously. Matthew DeBord of Shifting Gears is the most recent auto blogger we’ve seen write about just how good Buick is these days. Our commentary and a link to his story is below the jump.
