New RX-7 coming in 2011

Edmunds is reporting that a new Mazda RX-7 will become available in 2011 as a 2012 model.

Details of course are sketchy at this point, but Edmunds is saying to expect a rotary engine in the 200-250 hp range.  But also that the engine has the potential for up to 350 horsepower.  The idea is that the new RX-7 will be a $25,000 sports car in the spirit of the first generation RX-7 (not the last generation supercoupe).

They also think that the RX-8 will be discontinued.  We will see.
